  • If we had an 8 (or a 16) team playoff, what is your bracket?

I'm going off the assumption the P5 Conference Champions, the Highest GO5 Champ, and two at-larges

    1 Clemson
    8 UCF

    4 Alabama
    5 Ohio State

    3 Georgia
    6 USC

    2 Oklahoma
    7 Wisconsin

With 16 teams, if you do that, its all ten Conference Champions and six at-larges

    1 Clemson
    16 Florida Atlantic

    8 Penn State*
    9 Auburn*

    5 Ohio State
    12 Notre Dame*

    4 Alabama*
    13 Boise State

    6 USC
    11 UCF

    3 Georgia
    14 Toledo

    7 Wisconsin*
    10 Washington*

    2 Oklahoma
    15 Troy

16 is too much. 8 is fine.

I like the 16 team playoff. Even the 1 vs. 16 game - who wouldn't want to watch the Lane Train take on Dabo? It wouldn't be a great game but people would still watch. And there are a bunch of other really great first round games.

16 team playoffs means the regular season would have to be reduced by 2 games

so bottom 4 teams have to play an extra game? fuck that - all teams in the P/Os play the same number of games

I'm good with 4 teams. Technically we only need 2 this year. The drop from 2-3 is quite a bit.

I'll never understand how anyone could be against this. Shit would be all kinds of fun.

Would you still put Alabama at #4 if there's an 8 team playoff?

Right now Alabama had to be shoehorned into the 4-team playoff thereby dissing USC and tOSU.

If the power 5 CCG champs got autobids AND there was place for Alabama - why would alabama care if they were ranked 4th or 6th?

I mean...why even rank the teams if you aren't going to take the top 8.
