ODT: FVSports Movie Review Thread

Black Panther (C+)

Not terrible, but as with all super hero movies Im just kind of over it. Too much cgi, too many special effects. Solid story, good acting by MBJ and Chadwick. Its not the worst way to spend a couple hours, but this is not the dark knight either.

So, I'm officially done with reviews on IMDb...

Enola Holmes came out on the 23rd. On the evening of the 23rd, I noticed it, and figured I'd check it out, as it could be a simple, family fun flick with a bit of a twist from the classic Sherlock Holmes storyline.

The movie hadn't been out 24 hours, yet there were somehow there were already 1500+ reviews (now over 16,000 in 48 hours), and the majority were shockingly angry, vitriolic, whiny bullshit. All the #metoo blaming, woman bashing misogyny one could possibly stand in their life rolled into reviews from incel fuckwads in their parents' basement...But, it's clearly more than that. We all know reviews on Amazon and social media platforms are full of bots and ghost profiles, but this bullshit on a fucking simple family flick to lob actual hate speech toward a child and a movie? What the actual fuck is going on? I will never look at IMDb ratings or reviews again...It's fucking sickening.

As for the movie...It's not that good. The Witcher as Sherlock is the weakest Sherlock since the last time you heard someone say "no shit Sherlock". It's just a drawn out, mediocre family flick, but it serves its purpose to create an alternative Holmes universe and kill a couple hours. It had potential at times, but the 4th wall narrative shit is not executed well. Would've been more enjoyable with at least 30 mins removed.

Ford V Ferrari(B)-Solid entertaining movie, worth watching. Highlights were the way they shot some of the scenes from driver POV..those were awesome. Made me drive 85 on the freeway this week. Characters were a bit...obvious..but..overall a fun movie.

Ford V Ferrari(B)-Solid entertaining movie, worth watching. Highlights were the way they shot some of the scenes from driver POV..those were awesome. Made me drive 85 on the freeway this week. Characters were a bit...obvious..but..overall a fun movie.

I watched about 5 minutes of this in college. We all went to blockbuster and chose a few movies and a couple of the um..quirkier girls we were with thought midgets were funny. Even they admitted it was fucking terrible.
