One of my vehicles has a broken CD changer with no way of connecting an external device. My other has an Aux jack so I am good.

iPhone nerds, so my 11 year old just got an iPhone six days ago for his birthday. Takes it to the trampoline park and it's lost or stolen.
So I did find my iPhone only to find out he turned off location services by accident 4 days ago. I put the phone in lost mode, called it, etc. and today the battery ran out. Wife called the police and they said they would only cell tower track it if it's a missing kid.
So I assume this one is gone?

Now. You might be able to add AppleCare with Loss Prevention. That’s worth a try. It might be your best bet.
Let me know.

Yeah. If he turned off location services, he’s basically fucked. And honestly, that should be the first question: why? You can turn off certain settings without throwing everything out in the process.

Also, it’s worth checking with your carrier if you have insurance too. I broke a phone once and had insurance through Verizon that covered it.

Now, if you have carrier insurance, in some cases, that can cover loss. I’m not sure of the window for adding that. It might set off red flags if you add this and immediately use it. I’m not sure.
Going forward, does anyone who is an adult own an iPhone? As I recall, your wife does. Set up Family Sharing and add the kid to the family. Enable location services. You should be able to lock this down to some extent. You can also not share the Apple ID password with the kid, thus preventing them from signing out.
If find my iPhone was on, you’d be able to find the phone. That said, if they try to sell it, it won’t go well for them.

I never go into their stuff..... I use Qustodio to lock their phones, set screen time, etc. I have nothing setup on the Apple level since I don't know how to do it.

The Apple commercial where the fat black lady is recording her son in a race by running in front of everyone else is attendance with some song that goes “get out of my way” is supposed to be a positive thing? I’ve seen it on espn this weekend and nothing inspires me to but your product while it highlights it’s feature to be an asshole and ignore everyone else.
