  • A thread to close the book on GOT

Shows just how over their head the showrunners were, and how HBO really did drop the ball on this series.

Is there anything that you actually do like?

I mean, besides teeny bopper music?

Counterpoint: GRRM doesn’t even know how to tie up the loose ends and complete his story. He’ll have to die and someone like Brandon Sanderson will step in to finish it.

To be honest, this is the only way the books will get finished. He simply has written himself into a situation where he clearly doesn't know how to finish. And its fine. Look, end of the day we got a really awesome story from George...just no finish.

They just announced a GOT Prequel - House of the Dragon - The Targaryen Civil War that takes place 300 years before GOT - so just like Star Wars - we're going to see a prequel and a sequel

Yup, and agreed...it’s fine. Disappointing as a fan, sure, but the books are the best fantasy books that I’ve read ever.

Think GRRM would have finished the series had it not been for the HBO ordeal?

Really? LOTR defined the genre. GRRM spent way too much time thinking about underage girls having sex.
