    • NXT won for once

      Comment

      • NXT: 876,000
        AEW: 781,000

43-10-1, NXT got killed in the key demo again (that is 53-1 to AEW). This proves yet again, for NXT to win they have to do special events like Take-overs and shows with old WCW PPV names.

        • Because Vince has a weird hard-on for Mononyms, Matt Riddle will now be simply known as... Riddle.

          Bro.

          • Tonight's the first night I've actually been sold on Eddie Kingston. His segment with Moxley was absolutely incredible.

              NXT: 610,000

44-10-1 News killed both shows for obvious reasons

              • This is not a drill...Jay White is main eventing the Tokyo Dome! Love everything about it. WK looks amazing yet again. Okada-O'Spreay...wow.

Im watching Full Gear tonight after the Ohio State game.

Agreed. Although at times, NXT has seemed to be the better show in this fall but then they fuck us with WWE-style booking.

I was sold on him in CZW with the promo he cut on a guy disrespecting a ten-bell salute when he went the fuck off and pointed out to the fanbase who the POS was. This was in the early 2010s. Amazing promo guy. His story is so fucking good to tell a story with, whether he's destined to be a midcard act who occasionally gets that main event rub to job, he'll sell you on a promo much like Piper did.

I've wondered forever when Gedo was going to do this with the briefcase. At some point, a G1 winner had to lose. Although my personal prediction is Ibushi-Naito for the IC Title on Night 1, then White-Naito on Night 2 for the IWGP. Or vice versa.

                  • I must say, I'm voting Kingston as best on promos in the WON this year. You can't tell me his mic work hasn't sold you at all... from his TNT challenge that got him his deal to the backstory with him and Mox (who IRL are great friends and pushed for Tony to sign him from the moment he got the call).

Eddie sold all of his gear the day before he got the call and was prepared to put his house on the market. We all know he's losing (or has), but that guy is the Piper of our generation on the mic with maybe MJF a solid second in that category (but his heel schtick and keeping kayfabe alive is great).

                    • AEW's way of bringing people in has really worked off. We're so used to the new wrestler goes through jobber after jobber then works their way up the card. Here, they're bringing in guys, immediately throwing them into a main event slot to see how they do, then let them settle into their place on the card. Its worked with Cage, Starks, Kingston, Archer, and Lee.

The downside is it makes actual genuine challengers a bit few and far between, which is why the tournament worked so well.

                      • Full Gear will be up for best show of the year along with Revolution, Wrestle Kingdom, and G1 with Suzuki's classic.

Hangman-Omega was incredible. YB vs. FTR was a love letter to tag team wrestling, probably the 2nd best tag match ever in this country. Jericho-MJF was good. Kingston is going to be a massive babyface whenever crowds are a thing again.

Tony Khan solidified his spot as booker of the year. First time in years that it won't be Gedo. Watch this show, its really that good.

Both titles on both nights. Naito/Ibushi on Jan 4, winner goes on to face White on Jan 5.

Okada vs Osprey also set for the first night.

                            • They are developing 3 games. 1 is a console game by Yukes (LMFAO@ WWE), the 2nd is a GM game, and 3rd is called AEW Casino.

                              • I'm most excited for that GM game. I have modern mania wrestling on my phone. Its worth pulling out every now and then. This looks like something more in depth. Hopefully they wont overdo it on the microtransactions.
