    Put 9 in his back.

LOL at the guy who said he was afraid for his life when a dude in a motorized wheelchair flashed a knife at him. Like, what?

Just in case this needs to be said, it wasn’t about fear. It was about dominion. The guy was stupid to brandish a knife. But yeah… the cop decided to put him in his place.

Part of me wonders why cops pull this shit knowing they’re on camera. But then, I remember that they often think they function above the law. And, historically, they don’t often get held accountable.

This is the result of the warrior cop mentality. They have it beat into their little brains at seminars that they shouldn't be afraid to take a life (or lives) and that it is us (law enforcement) vs. them (plebs, the masses, criminals, normal people, NPCs, whatever).

To serve and protect is an idealistic memory for this kind of cop. He's not a public servant on the taxpayer's payroll. He's a mercenary designed to eliminate threats at any cost. He's *above us*.

Not every cop is a warrior cop, but the attitude is pervasive.

If any of these other groups actually gave a shit about the police killing people, guys like this would be who they would rally behind. Or that guy in Seattle that got shot up in his bed because the police stormed the wrong house. Nobody said shit about him, but if he was black, half of the country would've burned down.

Perhaps. I think it's probably more about the guy showed him a knife and it kinda scared him, which embarrassed him, so he then "had" to set things right. So he attempted to make the guy bend to his authoritah, which failed miserably. In his own pea brain, he considered that to be justification for extermination. The 9 shot overkill is merely proof he was emotionally out of control.

Exactly the wrong mindset for anyone who should be allowed a job in law enforcement, or in any job with even a modicum of authority. Especially in relation to handling weapons of any description.

Wait. I mean… kinda? If a knife in the hand of a guy lacking in any sort of functioning mobility scares you, you’re in the wrong line of work.

If shooting a guy in the back 9 times, makes him respect your authority, you’re doing it wrong. He’s not alive to respect you.

So, he was proving his dominion. To anyone. To everyone. I don’t think for a second he was afraid. The guy stood up to him. In his mind, anyone doing so clearly needs to be put down.

That’s what he’s saying. The way the dude reacted is indicative that he never should’ve been near a badge in the first place.

Seriously, watch the video. Who the fuck does that? Who sees the crippled guy rolling away at 4 mph with a knife and says “holy shit I better shoot this guy before he goes on a rampage?”

100% agree. And a cop culture of them being above the law rather that and enforcer of yet equal to let this meathead moron feel empowered to do what he did.

For fuck's sake guys. I'm tired of this shit. I am not defending the cop, and you go see my comments about his actions in the other thread. I'm so fucking tired of yall telling a part of the story and then going hollywood trying to make a historical movie.

Your descriptions of what happened are about as accurate as Mel Gibson's Braveheart. The only facts you got right were: 1) He had a knife 2) He was shot in the back.

The cop that shot him was not the person who called in the knife. It was a loss prevention specialist from walmart. The cop then chased the guy through the parking lot trying to get him to drop the knife. It wasn't until this guy tried to enter another business armed, that the cop escalated the use of force from verbal commands.

It's god damn lies and intentional misrepresentation of facts that lead protest and riots. Sadly, some of the false comments and conjectures in this thread are made by the same people who were bashing the media for soing the same thing in the Rittenhouse situation.

                          Be better people.

                            Settle down lol.

You can’t tell me that he had to shoot that guy. He’s in a fucking motorized wheelchair and you have a whole tool belt of shit that can bring him to a dead halt. The guy who shot him is a fucking idiot and never should’ve been allowed to become a cop.

Literally all he had to do was taser the dude. Or push his wheelchair over. If protocol is all that bullshit you wrote than the protocol sucks.
