So long story short, the people you’re trying to win tend to have a complex view of the issue and don’t place much importance on it. This is typically why you only see abortion brought up when candidates need to rally their base.

I'm pretty sure abortion and immigration will be mostly unchanged until we die at this point. Primary reason being that both political parties enjoy using it as a wedge issue rather than actually fixing it. The DEMS LOOOOVE talking about both, but rarely do anything to affect either.

Also, it pisses me off the way abortion is treated as an exclusively partisan issue. Like if I don’t want to kill babies, I also have to think we should abandon them to the streets at birth.
