She's a minority here, though. Remember, red state. I just don't get into heated political discussions with the people I'm close with, mostly because I don't think it's worth it. What do either one of us gain by yelling and arguing over an issue that has no impact on our relationship or lives generally? It's better just to let sleeping dogs lie and laugh about it when we're watching a stand-up special.

In the end, this is more of a culture war issue, at least in the eyes of most on the right, than it is about women. To wit, millions of women stand solidly for the curtailing of their own rights for the cause.

As you’ve probably noticed, red states have been shoring their legislative borders for a while now. The divide is becoming increasingly stark and untenable from the stance of governance. It’s heading in the direction that some on the right have been hoping for, for some time.

National Divorce: codified language for secession and civil war. And again, I feel like we’ve been in a civil war for some time. Lines started being drawn years ago and are escalating thanks to a new crop of populist politicians who feel they have something to gain in the process. It’s cynical and nihilistic. They have no respect for the country they say they love.

Hell. Marjorie Taylor Greene literally just said it the other day. “Anger and Fear.” If they can keep one or more segments of our society angry and fearful of the other, it benefits them. She and those like her are doing what they’re doing to stoke these fires. She’s playing them. It’s working.
