I'll not be surprised if the Republicans go overboard. They are just like the Democrats in that regard. It's all about the shit show for keeping their jobs. Right, wrong, compromise, are all words that do not fit in politics.

Abortion is illegal in Missouri and considered a class B felony punishable by 5-15 years in prison. For perspective, 2nd degree rape is a class D felony punishable by 0-7 years in prison.
Now say your a pregnant 11 year old who has been raped by her uncle. You would get more time than yor rapist for not wanting to have a baby.

My aunt has been a nurse in Alabama since the early 80s. Her and literally all her colleagues were irate with yesterday and are scared shitless about what it’s going to do to an already shitty healthcare system in their state.
What’s the end game if Thomas gets what he wants? We’re going to be in some utopian society where everyone and everything we don’t like doesn’t exist if we close our eyes and chant?

I'm not sure why there is such an uproar anyway. States are still free to decide on their support level. Nothing has been banned.

They are all Catholics. Which the Founding Fathers would have never let near the Supreme Court.

You’re not sure why there is an uproar? Yes you do. The SCOTUS just ruled that a woman does not have the Constitutional Right to control what happens to your own body. Because, the justification for this isn’t settled science. At what point do a mass of cells become a human? No one really knows. It’s a faith-based argument.
We’re thrusting our nation back to the times of back-alley abortion doctors. Unless, of course, people in states like “The South in General” have money. And then, it’s no problem. Because, this isn’t going to have any effect on the wealthy.
If a woman in one of these states trips and falls while pregnant, resulting in a miscarriage, will she be arrested and brought up on charges? Will all accidents be subject to a criminal jury trial?

The problem with the Roe v Wade decision is, it asserts (based on what many consider to be an absolutely terrible argument) that women have a constitutional right to abortion. It's a shame that it took so long for it to be overturned, but it's the correct decision. Now things will be the way they should have been from the beginning: States that want to allow abortion can do so, and states that want to ban it can ban it. As it stands now, around half of the states in the U.S. plan to ban it or enforce existing bans that are on the books, and my suggestion to anyone who might be looking to kill their baby in those states is to seek life elsewhere. It's a big country, after all.

Found this gem earlier. I don't even know where to begin.
1.) There is very little difference in female and male opinions on abortion over time. Women generally favor it slightly more in the "legal under any circumstances" category, but that's still less than 40% of women. The most popular position is, and has always been, for it to be legal under certain circumstances. People define that differently based on whatever criteria they choose, but this idea that the majority supports abortion on demand for any reason is just flat out false. That has never been in the case in almost 50 years of polling.

2.) What kind of delusional psychopath thinks that they have the right or authority to speak for their entire sex? Like just by putting her psychopathic thoughts out into the universe she can somehow mind control the female population of the country (or world?) and organize a mass protest. Newsflash bitch, most women don't agree with you and a lot of the ones that do think you're a crazy cunt, because you are.Attached Files

Roe v Wade doesn't address the entire issue.
