I know several trans people from work. It’s kind of reflective as to where they are in society in that after thinking about it, I know four. They seem happy with where they are in life and are all nice people. One is a lawyer, one does engineering work.

It seems like the last couple months of whatever is going on with hating lgwhatever is more or less posturing for people that need attention or just have really strong opinions on things that have no effect on them.

I remember my freshman year roommate having the dumb “it’s Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve” thing with like anger in his voice. I have a gay uncle. I just kind of danced around it and asked if he knows any gay people and it was pretty much no and I hate them. The opinion of my dumb/redneck roommate 23 years ago is a political stance at the point.

So, here's my deal. I can post pictures of what people look like after gender reassignment surgery and we can discuss them from a scientific standpoint. You can tell me that you think the deformed piece of flesh that was surgically removed from someone's arm and fashioned to look like a penis looks totally normal and there's nothing wrong with someone who would do that. Then we can look at some pictures of men who have had their penis removed and a hole dug into them. A hole that will never heal, that they will have to forcibly dilate with an apparatus for the rest of their life. That stinks like shit and basically functions as a permanent open wound that can't even engage in sex, let alone produce pleasure for its owner. You can tell me that you think it's acceptable for doctors to do this to people, and that the people this happens to will live happier lives having had their genitals destroyed.

So what do you say pal, do you want to actually look at what we're talking about or do you want to talk around it because you're scared of the reality? Bear in mind, none of what I will share has been stolen. It was all posted either on public forums or websites devoted to spreading the dangers of this kind of "treatment", and my intent is simply to discuss what is and remove all of these distortions.

Here's my guess: You don't. You'll pussy out and hide behind it being nudity or inappropriate in some way, when the fact is, you and I both know that this shit is impossible to defend when you take it outside of the theoretical and look at the reality.

I say, “Who the fuck cares?” It weirds me out. I’ve said that before. But, who am I to judge? It doesn’t affect me in the slightest. Just like it doesn’t affect you. If it affected me, maybe I’d care more. That’s not me copping out. That’s me wondering why you care so damned much.

I'm sure there have been some bad instances of things going wrong. Nothing is 100%. That being said, the vast vast vast majority (above 98% I think) of people who receive treatment do not regret getting said treatment. Suicide and suicide attempt rates are down among populations that receive treatment.

Basically any stat you want to use is on the side of allowing transgendered people to seek hormone and/or surgery treatment. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it isn't effective and vitally important for those receiving it.

And reality doesn't change no matter how much you or others lie about it. The people you support will be stopped, one way or another. I promise you that.
