Aside from arguing with our village idiot, do you believe governors such as DiSantis and Abbott have their citizens’ best interests at heart?

I don’t believe Biden should go full-bore Trump, and withhold federal aid to Florida or Texas. But, there’s a fine line between state autonomy and governors using their citizens as a Petri dish for their political aspirations.

Desantis and Abbott can continue to get their constituents killed. Not my problem, outside of not wanting to spend vacation money in either of those states. The federal government can file lawsuits if the feeling is these anti-mandate mandates should be handled at the local level.

It becomes your problem when flights landing from Florida and Texas bring those unvaxxed yahoos to PA and now you're having to deal with kids getting infected or breakthrough infections.

This entire pandemic has been little more than a political dog and pony show. It's why I said from jump that if you honestly believed that it was going to stop at "15 days to flatten the curve" you were a fucking moron.

At some point, we simply have to let individuals take responsibility. The last 18 months have been spent by the government and politicians doing everything they possibly can to take away responsibility from the masses. Because the less responsibility the masses have, the more the political class can control them.

Decisions have to be made preferably at the lowest possible level.
