They’re going to build their own private schools soon, that they pay for with vouchers and membership fees. They’ll build them in their identical HOA communities full of rows of identical houses and make sure the police are well funded and armed. They’ll receive a different education than people in the public school system and continue to become more and more detached from the rest of the population.

All of this has already been happening, and it’s accelerating like a mother fucker.

I wonder how this will interact with EEOC.

      • A Texas Republican lawmaker proposed a bill allowing everyday people to sue anybody who hosts or performs in drag where any child is in attendance. Critics say the measure will create a bounty-hunting culture that targets drag queens and transgender people.

They are using the abortion bounty hunting law to go after gays.

DeSantis is really asking for trouble.

          • A Republican state senator in Minnesota said Tuesday he was voting against a bill to provide free breakfast and lunch for school students in part because he'd never encountered anyone in the state who was hungry.

“I have yet to meet a person in Minnesota that is hungry,” Sen. Steve Drazkowski said in remarks on the floor of the State Capitol in St. Paul before voting on the legislation. "I have yet to meet a person in Minnesota that says they don’t have access to enough food to eat.”

            • Let’s not leave Tennessee out. Their Lt. Governor is… something else. Like… how many of these guys are hiding out in the Republican Party? I guess they think if they help to marginalize the gays, it draws attention away from the fact that they’re gay themselves.

                    Lol what a weird change.

Personally, I like to imagine Rosa Parks as a samurai taking on a bunch of evil ninjas.

Weird? No. It’s not weird. It’s not strange. It is exactly what you and I know it is. It’s taking race out of events that directly correlate to racism in our nation. Rosa Parks is a national treasure and a motherfucking hero. To take race out of the equation is to cheapen her legacy in an effort not to shine a spotlight on why she was forced to move… because, back then, the entire fucking system was fucking racist, right down to an old lady having to give up her seat because a white person wanted it. That’s the part of our past DiSantis wants to erase.

Exactly! Anyone who thinks or claims otherwise is fucking brain dead.

Yeah, that’s really messed up. I’m sure it wasn’t the 10,000 small cuts that liberals laughed off and dismissed that lead us to this place. It has to be an evil plot by a secret cabal of Uber conservatives hell bent on destroying us all.

Your frame is so narrow it’s suffocating.

I think it’s petty, but it’s also par for the course. In ten years, Jesus will be a black tranny and Marx will be a Chinese woman, and I’ll still be laughing at anyone who takes this nonsense seriously.

It's par for Florida apparently. And I don't recall it being this bad before DeSantis and his crusades.

Removal of ‘Ruby Bridges’ film from Pinellas school sparks outrage

The Disney movie “Ruby Bridges,” which tells the tale of a 6-year-old who integrated New Orleans schools in the 1960s, has been a staple of Pinellas County Black History Month lessons for years.

It never caused a stir until this year, as parents across Florida exert increasedpowers to question what children can see and read in schools.

Yes, and it’s going to get worse until someone wins.
