I’m not sure if I understand what you’re saying here. But, assuming that you don’t believe in spanking, and certainly not by the school system, then I’m on that page too. Your last sentence muddied the waters a bit, making your stance a bit nebulous.

The issue in play here is a trade term sometimes known as Emplacive Parenting… or some shit like that. I have heard my mom speak on this at conferences. What I know about this, I know from her. Anyhow, when your kids are at school, teachers take on a limited guardianship of your kids. The question has always been: To what extent.

As you probably know, corporal punishment is still a thing in roughly half of the states in the country. Although it fell out of vogue in the 80’s, it’s still on the books in many places, lying dormant, waiting to be used.

As we see an uptick in political polarization across the nation, schools are once again seeing action on the front lines on the culture wars. As there are many parents who are effectively saying they want schools sent back in time to when they were in school, it can’t shock you to learn that some school systems will revert all the way back to spare the rod; spoil the child. It’s a natural progression.

It’s a joke. I don’t believe in hitting anyone unless it’s in self defense.

          • "States like Massachusetts, New York, and California will better facilitate the care of these individuals who they have invited into our country by incentivizing illegal immigration through their designation as 'sanctuary states' and support for the Biden Administration's open border policies," a statement from DeSantis' office said.

So DeSantis is soon gonna be slapped with Human Trafficking lawsuits.

Does DeSantis think this one-upping Trump is working with the Trumpers?

So, moves like this are just going to continue to ramp up these sort of things unless they’re forced to stop… which they’ll then frame as government overreach.

Yes, but pretty much this part.

                  • After three days on a Greyhound bus, Lela Mae Williams was just an hour from her destination—Hyannis, Mass.—when she asked the bus driver to pull over. She needed to change into her finest clothes. She had been promised the Kennedy family would be waiting for her.

It was late on a Wednesday afternoon, nearly 60 years ago, when that Greyhound bus from Little Rock, Ark., pulled into Hyannis. It slowed to a stop near the summer home of President John F. Kennedy and his family. When the doors opened, Lela Mae and her nine youngest children stepped onto the pavement.

Reporters' microphones pointed at her, their cameras trained on her family. The photographs in the next day's newspaper show Lela Mae looking immaculate. In an elegant black dress, a triple string of pearls and a white hat, she was dressed to start a new life.

"She was going to have a job, and she was going to be able to support her family," one of Lela Mae's daughters, Betty Williams, remembered in a recent interview. Before coming north to Massachusetts, Lela Mae had been promised a good job, good housing and a presidential welcome.

But President Kennedy was not there to meet her. And there was no job or permanent housing waiting for her in Hyannis. Instead, Lela Mae and the others were unwitting pawns in a segregationist game.

                    • Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is requiring all female student-athletes in the state to provide detailed information about their periods in order to compete in organized sports.

And DeSantis claims Florida is the state with the most freedom in the nation.

But there's an easier and less intrusive way to check if you're a male or female. Just looks for and Adams apple

Democrats load them up and “relocate” them (see: drop them off at a fucking airport with some vouchers and a good luck) to battleground states and Republicans ship them out of red states into prosperous blue areas to spite those people. And at no point does anyone who engages in this sort of behavior, regardless of their political affiliations or beliefs, recognize the fact that they’re dealing with real human beings. Not political currency, people.

                              • DiSantis is ready to break ties with the College Board. That ought to go over well in suburbia, with kids no longer able to take AP classes or the SAT.
