I think it was bullshit, but I’m starting to think they all were, at least during my lifetime. When you step back and look at things objectively, elections and their coverage have more in common with reality tv shows than not. How real are those?

But they continue to be assholes. Hunter Biden is nowhere to be seen on the Biden campaign trail or near the Whitehouse. He doesn't affect your lives in the way Ivanka and Don Jr. did.

I maintain my position that he's a complete douche, but I can't shake the feeling that most of the anger from the right towards him is jealousy.

A few thoughts.

Yep. He was living it up like a scion of privilege. He’s not a dumb guy, but his family dynamic is likely right and truly fucked. By all accounts, his mom is obsessed with being upwardly mobile and his dad spent as much time (or more) in Washington than he did with Hunter. Guys like this aren’t born, they’re made.

I’m of a belief that, for much of his life, Hunter was lashing out, and leaving daddy to pick up the pieces again and again. He wanted attention. I think we can all acknowledge that he used up every ounce of his father’s credibility in the process. Ten years ago, I knew Hunter was going to one day become a political liability. He’s enough of a shit show that any political strategist on the Right would be a fool to pass it up.

Children of privilege are often irksome, and the higher the parent’s level of privilege, the more annoying the kid. Paris Hilton? The Kardashians? Gary Coleman?

So, half the people out there want to be them and the other half want to beat them. To death. Repeatedly and often. Does this sound familiar?
