Trump said the $750 he paid was the filing fee for his taxes. Just to be clear that isn't real or thing and you can find nobody other than Trump claiming it is.

If Trump was transparent he would release his taxes but he refuses. But we do know some information from media sources. My educated guess is Donald Trump used his huge losses due to being a bad businessman, certain favorable parts of the tax code for real estate investors, and claimed certain tax credits to avoid paying taxes for years.

The Tax bill he signed into law in 2017 benefited him because it allows corporations to carry unused losses forward to future years indefinitely instead of the prior limit of 20 years.
