    So… Abbott is admitting that, before his abortion bill, Texas wasn’t really, REALLY trying to “work tirelessly to make sure that we eliminate all rapists from the streets of Texas by aggressively going out and arresting them and prosecuting them and getting them off the streets.” It’ll be like… magic.

    Texas is above the national average in reported rapes. It’s pretty clear that Abbott and his fellow Texas Republicans have long held ending abortion as a higher priority than rape. Otherwise, why has Abbott been holding out on said magical rape solution?

      • Looks as if two disbarred lawyers and a doctor gone rogue all want to test Texas’ new abortion law. Basically, on the grounds that it’s impossible for the plaintiffs to prove actual damages and that the law is a paper tiger.
