Oh so we're talking about the other socialist utopia turned dictatorship. My bad, there's so many it's hard to keep track.

Do you think our response might have something to do with their whole corrupt government starving people problem?

You mean when they were trying to conquer multiple countries simultaneously? What's your argument here, that it's a bad idea to attack your neighbors and the U.S.? Because I'm pretty sure that falls under the no shit category.

if you want everybody including old, sick, invalid and children to work - then you have a warped view of the republican utopia.

Wow- talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.

So that's a sufficient justification for regime change and nation building now? People weren't stabbing in Venezuela when Chavez was in charge, why were we sanctioning them then?

Japan attacked the US after the US started sanctioning them. What would be our response if our main supply of raw resources were cut off until we removed our military bases from South Korea?

Starvation? Yeah. Almost the entire world has agreed that you lose your right to sovereignty when you commit crimes against humanity. You know, like mass starvation disguised as mismanagement when it's really just garden variety corruption.

and after Japan was invading other countries. Don't forget, Japan was in active war in 1936 with China.

Its the same deal every time. Socialists take control of a resource rich area, exploit it for all it's worth until there's nothing left, and then blame the evil capitalists when the party ends. There's no long term strategy, it's straight up robbery disguised as ideology sold with empty promises. Oddly enough, this strategy is exactly what they accuse their opponents of despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

Chavezuela should be a economic powerhouse. Instead its a freaking cesspool. And there is but one explanation.

Look at Chile for God's sake. They have a fraction of the economic value that Venezuela does on a base level, and yet they have one of the strongest economies in South America.

Tell me about all the people who were starving under Chavez. The fact is that we started sanctioning Venezuela because they didn't want to give US companies free reign to plunder their resources. Then we turned around and labeled that as the fight for human rights.

Marco Polo bridge was in 1937. If that was enough for sanctions, the US should have been sanctioned in 1846 and 1898.
