    • I know it's Trump this and all that, but his press release today should temper the stock market tomorrow.

It dropped 400 points after he started talking at 3:30 today. If the market was still open it'd be down 4k by now.

The president finally admitted that he'd been bullshitting us this whole time and this is actually really really bad and said the lockdown could last until August. Yeah, that'll calm the markets.

            • What’ll calm the markets it putting money in the hands of people who need it so they can spend it at businesses that need to stay open which will keep people employed.

This goes back to our lack of social safety nets relative to Europe/other developed countries.

Money in pockets won’t matter if everything but grocery stores and gas stations is closed.

What about giving it to large companies so they can buy back their stock at a discount?

                      Thanks Andrew Sanders.

                        • The coronavirus pandemic will bankrupt most airlines worldwide by the end of May unless governments and the industry take coordinated steps to avoid such a situation, an aviation consultant warned.

We don't need any of that socialism stuff in this America. Those airlines need to pull themselves up by their bootstraps. Maybe they wouldn't be so in debt if they didn't waste so much money on their avocado toast and Netflix.

                                Another contributing factor.
