Supposedly Trump is trying to buy the vaccine that is being developed in Germany for sole use in the United States.

I don't even know why he would try doing that. I guess to make the US look that much better than Europe? Or to get a dig in at Merkel?
Moving a lab would slow down research immensely. I've actually been a part of moving a lab, and it is no easy process.

Like anything he does, it isn't well thought through.

March 8: “We have a perfectly coordinated and fine tuned plan at the White House for our attack on CoronaVirus.”

March 9: “This blindsided the world.”

My favorite is March 6th. There absolutely zero chance a doctor told him this. I am constantly amazed at his ability to lie about shit like this. It’s almost like the story plays out in his head and he just runs with it.
That was when he was going to skip going to the cdc to get a head start on playing golf only to reverse course when the optics looked bad so he made everyone change plans and destroy traffic on a Friday so he could do a 30 minute photo op and have everyone praise how great he’s doing while coming in contact with people who later went into quarantine.

It is truly insane how people can rationalize that he’s doing anything smart here.

      • Apparently there are 6+ hour waits at customs for US citizens trying to get home. This photo was from O'Hare. Dallas and Atlanta had similar stories.

He keeps making things worse the more he gets involved. He has no idea what he is doing and has instilled a culture of fear and sycophancy throughout the government that everyone must 1) make him look good and 2) make his opponents look bad and 3) maybe do your job effectively, but not if it prevents 1 or 2.

          • With the country on the cusp of an epidemic, Trump is rage tweeting today about the woman living rent-free in his head.

            • The news was right, guys. I got a burrito yesterday and the hot sauce that’s normally at the table wasn’t there, they took them away and are keeping them in the bank as a precaution.

THE AMERICAN WAY OF LIFE HAS BEEN ALTERED!

I don’t know man. I know when I look for leadership in crisis I look to TV game show host, a former governor that calls his wife mother and the son in law of the game show host who was born into money and dabbles in real estate. If that’s not a trio you look to to handle a pandemic, I don’t know what to tell you.

                  • If Sloth came on tv Wednesday and said “Baby Ruth” and “hey you guys” and tore off his shirt to reveal a super man shirt it probably would have been an improvement.

                      • We should probably also bring up Trump dismantling the pandemic response team in 2018.

And I dodged the bullet when I returned to LAX on Friday Night - no lines - no screening. From plane to baggage claim was literally less than 5 minutes.

What they should be doing is what the Polish did - keep people in the plane - have a team of 6 people go row by row scanning people.

We hired him because he had business experience. Of course you just tell most people just to work from home in a pandemic and wait for the government to come up with a solution.

He's tried to act like John Bolton did that and not him. Someone should go ask Bolton about it.

After we get through this I can't wait for the bipartisan commission to investigate what went wrong and lessons learned.
