  • Trump to host G7 at Doral

Apparently aids scoured the land to find a suitable venue and found Doral to be the best site for the G7 Summit in 2020... even though it has only two “Presidential Suites”. Trump claimed his staff really wanted to be there saying, “This is where we’d like to be,’ ” Trump said then. “It’s not about me. It’s about getting the right location.” Sure.

So, let’s see. Assuming that Trump brings his normal entourage and each world leader brings theirs, you’re talking hundreds of rooms, not to mention food and alcohol. Let’s assume that this property bills similarly on a nightly basis to his other properties. That’s between $400-600 a night just for the room. So, assuming total staff is around 300 people, which is on the conservative side, Trump nets half a million dollars and also gets his once-proud-but-now-failing property a much needed boost of adrenaline.

Yep. Nothing to see here [cough-emoluments clause-cough].

He's got less than a year to make money because after he's booted out in 2020 - nobody is going to touch a Trump property

Again, the Oakland airport Marriott still has openings. They're missing a very promising opportunity.

        Promising? Oakland? Does not compute.

Honestly if this doesn't violate the emoluments clause what does?

It’s about as in your face as you can get when it comes to flouting the emoluments clause as we’ve seen. Sure, the other stuff might be close but not actually a violation... though I suspect they are violations. This? It’s actually unprecedented. On some level I have to ask, “Does this guy WANT to get impeached?” Because, if your goal is getting impeached, you basically do all the things Trump is doing. He’s not even bothering to hide it at this point.

Doral in no way even meets the requirement of a G7 summit.

Generally they want someplace remote/private to keep away the protesters and for security concerns. For example, Obama was going to have his summit in Chicago but moved it to Camp David for a more private location. GWB held his summit at Sea Island, Georgia a private island which they locked down. Trump meanwhile is holding his in Miami at his club that people sued for bed bugs in 2017.

Also Nixon had the capacity to feel shame which Trump does not possess. Nixon ultimately resigned rather than be impeached. They are going to have to drag Trump's ass out of the WH if he's impeached.

Why are the Republicans 9k with all of this?
Even if Doral was the Goldilocks site for the g7 the President should have selected any other site to remove any conflict of interest. That's what Obama would have done

Yeah. And then you have Trump touting the line of he didn’t make the choice... weeks after he floated the idea himself. Anyone with half a brain knows what went down. The guy just doesn’t care. He wants a presidency with zero checks on him. He believes that he has strong enough senatorial support that he can do as he wills.

Trump has Nixon beat in spades in terms of narcissism; a high bar. So long as he’s not shot down by the Senate, he will continue to push the boundaries of the Constitution.

Someones going to have to explain to me how this is a conflict of interest. The purpose of these meetings is to remind these cunts of their place, and forcing six assholes you routinely insult to sleep in beds you personally own is a fine way to start

These cunts as you call them fought Al Qaeda and showed solidarity on 9/11. And have stood by our side against Russia.

                          You have become a Trumpista
