I think it’s more a game of “spot the moron”, which this guy seems to be.

But, if you are looking for a reason to get rid of a guy, it's mighty convenient. I also think that a white person stupid enough to be saying that word in public is taking a risk. Most black people wouldn't dare say that word in public, especially at work. Never mind the fact that there are some words that one can't use. I can't use the D work to refer to a gay woman, but one of my coworkers can. Why? Because she's gay. Guess what, I don't run around saying "If I can't use that word, no one else can". I understand that some communities have co-opted words that were slurs, and tried to take them back. I've also noticed that it's mostly white guys who feel the need to whine about this. Just don't use those words, unless you are part of those communities. Simple. Then again, when you and your ancestors could do and say whatever you wanted with zero repercussions, someone asking you to not be a jackass can feel a bit limiting.

Probably. But the lesser morons in the story.

Secondly, don't do stupid crap. I can tell you the reason why this was handled the way it was handled: You have to have proof that crap like this went down(So you don't get sued), so you have to have an "Investigation". It's stupid in the fact that the supervisor could have easily sat the guy down and asked, gotten the context and then used the context with what was already known about the guy. If you have a guy who consistently does stupid crap this is a fireable offense. Someone who hasn't shown any kind of bigoted behavior, it's probably a write up. No competent manager is going to let someone talented go, just based on someone quoting a song, unless there was more going on. I think that there's a lot of stuff missing from this story, but we know some people just want something to whine about. Here's an idea, if you are quoting something that contains something that could be construed as a racial slur, just leave the slur out. I remember joking around with a coworker, and we were quoting "Casino". Guess what I didn't say? Exactly. Why? Because I knew that certain terms were derogatory towards Italians and Jewish people.
More or less this. I’m guessing that they were looking for a reason to fire him and he conveniently gave them one.

Oh. And smokers. They take smoke breaks.

Like I said, I didn't like the guy. The only people around him that was aware of were his two friends, and they obviously didn't care since they didn't stop and say something to him. The person that reported him was a guy we all hate (white guilt type always causing problems, even the manager that fired the guy doesn't like this person). Of course I'm getting my information from my friend, one of the black guys, who was there.

Think there’s a chance they just wanted this guy gone and they were looking for a reason? Because as others have said, that seems likely.

And you apparently missed the gospel. Which, in my opinion, is the most important part. But hey, you do you.

Exactly what part of the gospel supports any of those things? Chapter and verse, please.

Sounds more like a reason to Unionize to me. But, no. It's not the boss's fault that was used to fire him. We should blame things on words. Don't worry, I'm sure labor laws will protect him.

You forgot the part where he told people to repent for their sins over and over again, that he came to fulfill the law, said that people would misrepresent him (cough cough), and expressed righteous anger at people who were willfully disobedient.

But sure, other than about half of what he said, he was a total hippie who just loved everybody maaaan. I’m sure he would totally agree with you approving of baby murder, gay marriage, and genital mutilation.

And I just want to point out that nowhere in what I said did I judge you. I measured you against what you claim to believe and what God said. If you don’t like the Bible and what it teaches, that’s fine, just don’t call yourself a Christian if you feel that way and live in open defiance of what it teaches.
