  • I've now done my research and found that there is evidence that Roy might have some things to answer for. I agree the information was withheld to damage him politically, but because it was the NYtimes, it might actually get him elected anyway.

This is gonna go one of two ways. Roy gets elected and then kicked out of congress (if found guilty) and a special election will result in a total do over, or the current Alabama seat holder can resign immediately, thus resulting in a NEW special election and a complete do over. What a waste of money.....

There is climate in which women have been coming out in droves to accuse powerful men of sexual misconduct without any fear of reprisals.

This is just Roy Moore getting caught with the likes of Harvey Weinstein, Lous CK, George HW Bush, Kevin Spacey and others. There is no political angle to this.

Yes there was. They held the story so it would inflict the most damage to his chances to win the senate seat.

What does timing have to do with having proof?

          Nothing.

I'm glad you are consistent though. I recall you fervently defending her when the stories broke until you had absolute proof. You kept going on about how "this is so close to the election, it has a waft of "hit job" in the air". You were the voice of reason on an unreasonable board.
You may not have heard about it but the Clinton Foundation has been scrutinized for years as was Hillary's dealings when she was SoS.

And what do you think the Bill Clinton Foundation does? It's the same as the Bill Gates Foundation - they do healthcare work, build houses, distribute medicines and educate kids around the planet.

There's a reason Bill Clinton is beloved in India and Africa.

You were literally smearing the people accusing him a few posts ago. Accusing one of being a Hillary fan, another of being an ambulance chaser, another of being some sort of opportunist and the reporter for whatever background they have.

Are you this awful in real life?

Not really. I pay close attention to politics and didn't hear anything negative about the Clinton Foundation until 2015/16.

If you're referring to some closed circles of people who aren't fans of Clinton talking about it then you're probably right. But can't the same be said about small circles of people in Alabama and elsewhere talking about how big of a shitbag Moore is before the national media picked it up? Isn't it the same thing?

He signed the yearbook of one of the accusers when he was in his 30s. Who signs a yearbook in their 30s of someone they don't teach, tutor, mentor or that they aren't related to somehow? Super weird. And apparently he was banned from a mall in the 80s for preying on the local HS girls.

He almost certainly had relationships with high school girls when he was in his 30s. The question is were they inappropriate/sexual? Or just weird old guy friend-zoned?

I do know that a deeply religious man in the south getting married at the age of 38 to a 24 year old is a bit odd. Why wait so long?

daCat is easily the biggest hypocrite to ever log on to this forum.

Moore wouldn't hardly be the only public official with weird sexual proclivities. And culturally, this would not be as weird in the ME or in other places around the world.

The bottom line is Moore was a crazy dude before these allegations surfaced and he's still a crazy dude. Some people just have values we will never understand. Moore is basically the Christian version of a Mullah.

A lot of shit gets ignored due to religion. How many boys were raped by Catholic priests in Boston before the Boston Globe finally exposed the whole thing? People just...thought it was how things were.

I'm not completely bagging on religion as the church I grew up in didn't seem to take part in such activities, but it wasn't without it's own creepiness. 30 year old men asking to marry 14 year olds to get in early and claim them once they became legal. It's something that everyone knows is weird but just sort of ignored it.

I think if we really pulled back the veil on every American we'd be horrified at what we see.

Just go to Google Trends and check out people's porn searches. It's hard for me to get too outraged about what Horny Roy Moore did in the 70's when the whole country is jacking off to "teen" porn.

I don't find the "teen" to be as creepy as the Milf sections have turned into tons of incest porn. Maybe Roy and Ted Cruz can make some committee to eradicate teen and incest porn to show the world they're not into that stuff.
