  • World's Coaster Thread

Looks like I have to start a new one of these.

Banshee just opened today at King's Island, so it looks like I'll be hitting Ohio this summer.

My updated coaster rankings and a list of 2014 ride openings to follow in the coming days.

Carriage is empty, test runs usually lose speed without the passenger weight.

68 mph top speed is pretty good for a B&M invert.

Here's the #1 most anticipated opening for 2014. This is at Liseberg, Sweden.

How you take something cool like rollercoasters and turn it into something so nerdy is staggering.

I appreciate waldo's measured, analytic approach to everything. I feel like in a different life, Waldo and I would be good friends.

World's tallest coaster (Polercoaster, 525 ft. height) to be built in Orlando.

Looks like a souped up version of the Stratosphere ride in Vegas.

I'm skeptical about this project since S&S is an unreliable designer and it's not attached to an established park.

                  Here is the design...

In other news my summer trip schedule is set for June 29th - July 8th.

Here are the parks I'll be hitting.

Six Flags Great America (IL) - Goliath, 2014
                      King's Island (OH) - Banshee, 2014
Six Flags Over Georgia (GA) - Dare Devil Dive, 2011
Circus Circus (NV) - El Loco, 2014

Then I'll post my updated rankings in mid July.

Goliath is my new favorite coaster at Six Flags over Georgia. It's an old school style coaster with big drops. Dare Devil Dive is fun, too. You feel like you're falling over backwards on the initial climb.

Agree Goliath is definitely the best one there. Looking forward to DDD.
