We do have a thread dedicated to NJPW...its nutts "Non-WWE Wrestling Thread"...problem is a chunk of WWE watchers here only watch NJPW during WK, and then are spotty the rest of the year.

As for the last part, I try not to be prisoner of the moment...but I cannot recall a better match than Okada-Omega. End of the day, Okada-Tana is in that discussion as well. Both amazing.

Omega/Okada started slower and went to the Rainmaker well a bit too much at the end, which is why I say Okada/Tana. Thats not a knock on Omega, who I thought was the true star of that match.

And Im pissed that I had the njpw sibscription for eight months last year and only ever saw wk and the dash.

If merging threads didn't fucking suck and destroy the threads, I would merge this with the WK11 thread.

However... New Beginning, which is a two part show, will be held Sunday, February 5th in Sapporo and Saturday, February 11th in Osaka. Each show will feature English Commentary.

Keep in mind, NJPW lists their cards top to bottom, meaning they don't slot the third of four main-events as the second match, it's third from the top. (Just an example)

                New Beginning in Sapporo:

                IWGP Heavyweight Title Match
Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Minoru Suzuki
                Third title defense

IWGP Tag Team Title Match: 3-Way Dance
CHAOS [Tomohiro Ishii & Toru Yano] (c) vs. Killer Elite Squad (*Lance Archer & Davey Boy Smith Jr.) vs. Great Bash Heel (Togi Makabe & Tomoaki Honma)
                First title defense

                NEVER Openweight Title Match
Hirooki Goto (c) vs. Juice Robinson
                First title defense

                IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title Match
Roppongi Vice [Beretta & Rocky Romero] (c) vs. Suzuki-gun (TAKA Michinoku & Taichi)
                First title defense

                10-Man Tag Spectacular
Los Ingobernables de Japon (Tetsuya Naito, EVIL, BUSHI, SANADA, Hiromu Takahashi) vs. Michael Elgin, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Manabu Nakanishi, Ryusuke Taguchi & Dragon Lee

                YOSHI-HASHI vs. Takashi Iizuka

CHAOS (Will Ospreay, Gedo & Jado) vs. Katsuyori Shibata, Jushin Thunder Liger & Tiger Mask IV

Ten-cozy (Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Satoshi Kojima) & Yuji Nagata vs. Yoshitatsu, David Finlay & Henare

KUSHIDA & Hirai Kawato vs. Suzuki-gun (Yoshinobu Kanemaru & El Desperado)

                * - Lance Archer was Lance Hoyt in TNA, Vance Archer in WWE

                  New Beginning in Osaka:

                  IWGP Intercontinental Title Match:
Tetusya Naito (c) vs. Michael Elgin
                  Third title defense

                  IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title Match
Hiromu Takahashi (c) vs. Dragon Lee
                  First title defense

IWGP Tag Team Title Match: 3-Way Dance
CHAOS [Tomohiro Ishii & Toru Yano] (c) vs. Killer Elite Squad (*Lance Archer & Davey Boy Smith Jr.) vs. Great Bash Heel (Togi Makabe & Tomoaki Honma)
This will either be CHAOS's second title defense or K.E.S./G.B.H.'s first title defense

                  *RPW British Heavyweight Title Match
Katsuyori Shibata (c) vs. Will Ospreay

*NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Title Match
Hiroshi Tanashi, Manabu Nakanishi, & Ryusuke Taguchi (c) vs. Los Ingobernables de Japon (SANADA, EVIL, BUSHI)
                  Second title defense

CHAOS (Kazuchika Okada & Roppongi Vice) vs. Suzuki-gun (Minoru Suzuki, TAKA Michinoku, Taichi)

Juice Robinson, Tiger Mask IV, & Jushin Thunder Liger vs. CHAOS (YOSHI-HASHI, Gedo & Jado)

Ten-cozy & KUSHIDA vs. Suzuki-gun (Takashi Iizuka, Yoshinobu Kanemaru, El Desperado)

Yoshitatsu & Hirai Kawato vs. David Finlay & Henare

                  * CARD SUBJECT TO CHANGE

These two title matches may not be title matches when/if New Beginning rolls around. Shibata has a title defense in RPW this month, while the Six-Man Titles will be defended during Fantastica Mania.

                      So on the Omega front...

His contract is up on January 31st. NJPW feels like he is very much going to re-sign with them (as they have made it clear to Kenny that he is in their major plans going forward). The feeling is that he did the tweet to keep his name out there (knowing he wasnt going to be wrestling for a little bit, and that Suzuki was the immediate direction for Okada).

There are people in WWE that are trying to make it happen because Kenny could be an immediate star (like AJ). When considering all the circumstances involved, this is the time for WWE to go after Kenny.

                      - Kenny is in his 30s
                      - Coming off one of the greatest matches in history
                      - Contract is conveniently up on the 31st
                      - NJPW is starting to make moves to compete globally with WWE
                      - Shinsuke and AJ were eye openers for corporate WWE in terms of how over they were immediately.

As for Kenny, hes been very critical of the WWE product...and everything hes said is 100% correct. He won't be able to have the match quality in WWE that hes having in NJPW, and that is apparently important to him. That said, money talks and a wise man once said "everybody has a price"...I hope he stays in NJPW.

Most of the shows are all CMLL, with the New Japan Juniors and Young Lions participating on them. The only shows that I'm aware of that cards have been announced are the Fri/Sat/Sun shows on NJ World, and the only non-Juniors listed for one of those is a NEVER six-man tag contest.

Suzuki-Okada was another masterpiece by NJPW. Likely 5 star rating, truly amazing selling and different kind of match from the one Okada had with Omega. Stiff as shit, the selling by Okada was on another level.
