We have to travel to Tampa because Nick Saban says no one will play us.

Well, one person really wanted separate threads. I have a feeling others were fine with not cluttering the board all season this year. We do it with the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, and CBB.

It just makes it seem busier here. I guess Fuq or I could just merge the threads. Or not.

I’d be happy to not have to scroll through 15 pages of code:

Is it impossible to translate this into human speak?

I thought I read it was UCF at first and made me wonder what part of Malzahn magic Saban would want to screw with again.

This feels like back in 02 or 03 when Bama scheduled Hawaii after the Iron Bowl for a fake bowl game.

              Take that, NCAA.

I hope we never again face Malzahn. Saban would fall for his high school antics nearly every single time.

It was bad for health of everyone involved.

Having separate threads for each week makes it easier to reference game discussions from past games as you can easily look up the week the game occurred and find the thread. You could also search the one gigantic season thread and quote a previous post too though but I guess you would need to be comfortable with the site's search functions. I think the first post of each week thread being the week's schedule is also a convenient feature.

`Wait...you guys actually go back and read game discussions?

I barely read what any of you morons say during the games.

Hey, I'm not ripping on you guys not being able to follow a season thread. I'll keep my nonsense in a single thread, but thats just a personal preference. We have less than 20 active posters, pretty easy to follow. Are we doing this silliness for the NFL too?

I got bored while working. Doing a BCS-like poll:

Human Polls: AP, Coaches, and Reddit. You get the media (AP), Coaches, and fans (Reddit)
Computers: Using eight computer rankings like the original format, the polls are Sagarin, Anderson & Hester (first poll October 15th), Billingsley, Colley, Congrove (replacing the dead poll), Dunkel Index, Massey, and Wolfe (first poll on October 31st). The current six polls are averaged until October 15th, when the lowest score is dropped. After 10/31, the highest and lowest ranking in CPU rankings are dropped to composite the six poll average
Strength of Schedule: Featured in the early BCS era, the rank is divided by 25. Therefore Texas with a rank of 1 has a 0.04 score.
                        Losses: 1 point per loss
Sub-Total: Total combined scores of human element average, CPU average, SOS score, and Losses.
Quality Wins: Featured at one point, this rewards teams for beating teams ranked in the Sub-Total. 1.5 for beating the #1 team all the way down to 0.1 for 15th.
Total: Sub-Total minus the Quality Win reward.

This is the top ten to avoid table clutter:
                        1 Texas 10.67
                        2 Florida State 11.12
                        3 Michigan 12.65
                        4 Georgia 14.27
                        5 Ohio State 15.26
                        6 USC 16.02
                        7 Penn State 18.89
                        8 Washington 20.23
                        9 Notre Dame 20.69
                        10 Utah 27.15
                        New Year's Six Bowls:
Sugar: 1 Texas vs. 4 Georgia
Rose: 2 Florida State vs. 3 Michigan
Orange: 5 Ohio State vs. 18 North Carolina
Cotton: 8 Washington vs. 9 Notre Dame
Fiesta: 6 USC vs. 7 Penn State
Peach: 10 Utah vs. 36 Tulane

                        BCS Clusterfuck of selections:
I imagine the other four bowls being delegated like order of selection, based upon tie-ins. The scenarios would play out this way:
ACC Champion is in the Orange and Pac-12 Champion is in the Fiesta based on locks (Pac-12 Champion went to Fiesta when the Rose was scheduled for the BCS CG pre +1)
GO5 school has to be ranked in the Top 20 (adjusted due to more bowls), or ahead of a P5 champion.
Teams must be in Top 15 of rankings to be eligible for at-large selection (for P5 schools)
No restrictions on two team limit per conference (I'll be a sadistic fuck and still give that option, but changed to max of three if need be)
After the Sugar and Rose picks the semifinalists, order of selection before replacement choices would go as followed:
                        1. Orange (if ACC Champion is selected they would get first replacement)
                        2. Fiesta
                        3. Peach
                        4. Cotton
                        5. Orange
6-8. Repeat Steps 2-4 (or 3-5 with Pac-12 champion not in Top 4)

Orange: 5 Ohio State vs. 8 Washington
Fiesta: 6 USC vs. 7 Penn State
Peach: 9 Notre Dame vs. 11 Tennessee
Cotton: 14 Alabama vs. 13 Oregon

Because the bowls picked the teams and not the CFP committee, I imagine that Tennessee, Oregon, and Alabama are selected because of the brand names despite Utah being in the Rose the last two years, and Alabama qualifying for an at-large the Cotton or any other bowl is not going to pass them up. Same with Orange picking Ohio State first, then Fiesta taking Penn State to face USC. Peach is going to take Notre Dame as the Fiesta would avoid a rematch and no way would those bowls pass up ND as an eligible pick. Cotton then picks Alabama, the lowest at-large. Orange is then left with Washington, Utah, Tennessee, and Oregon. They could take any of those schools but I would expect UW over Tennessee due to them playing there last year. The Peach would take Tennessee, knowing they will drive about 2-4 hours to fill the stadium up and may end up setting a non-CFP semifinal attendance record for the bowl game. Cotton would take Oregon over Utah.

This would leave out #10 Utah and #12 Ole Miss due to name choices. Tulane being #36 and Fresno State #38 leaves them out as they are not in the Top 20 or ranked above a P5 Champion.

Teams should get less points for being rated higher on Reddit. Biggest collection of fucking idiots on the entire internet, and that’s saying something given the existence of this place.
