Still, as someone who normally doesn’t recognize or care for moral victories, these boys should feel great about the way they played. They had every reason to punk out and they never did.
We were playing with house money. I never expected Duke to win. Their 24 year-old QB has a better deep ball. And legs when he needs to. In years gone by, Duke would have never been in this game. Notre Dame didn’t have a single turnover. They were playing angry, but methodically. So? Yeah. I’ll take the moral victory. It gives us hope that we’re on a higher plane than we once were.

Now… how long do we keep Elko? There are going to be programs who will offer him a job. Michigan State would, certainly. That’s the problem being Duke. I doubt Elko stays past the point of having a lackluster season. Strike while the iron is hot.

Yeah. Losing sucks, but losing like that? Hopefully, it makes them get fired up for the next few games. They have a bye week. Hopefully, that helps. Especially, since Leonard went out with an injury.

Hartman stayed around to make sure Leonard was okay. That was a classy move. Respect.

That job is suicide. You’re playing Penn State/Ohio State/Michigan every year and as the Big Ten grows, their place in it seems less significant. I’m not going to say it’s IMPOSSIBLE for Michigan State to be good again, but it’s pretty close.

But you know, there is one job that may be coming open soon, and they have a history of hiring successful Duke coaches…

        • Feels like a lot of big teams got tested on the road but avoided upsets today.

          • As Chip Kelly said: The new clock rules still fucking suck.

We literally had 1 possession in the 1st quarter today.

            • Biggest UW/Oregon game since 2000.(Both teams on bye 10/7) Although, if USC's defense doesn't stop completely shitting the bed, UW/Oregon could very well play twice this year since they just take the top 2 teams now.

              • What's crazy is as bad as USC's defense is, Caleb Williams (and guys like Branch) are so damn good, they can still beat anyone on their schedule.

I think they can go undefeated in the regular season, but I’d be very surprised if they won it all. Sooner or later you’re going to run into a DL that’s playing out of its mind.

                    • I had changed the channel so I didn’t see this but Ole Miss stormed the field for beating LSU. Really?

I don't think they will beat Oregon or Washington twice unless there's significant defensive improvement, even with Caleb Williams.

I just have a hard time betting against him. Oregon definitely looks legit though, and so does Washington. I can’t wait to see how it plays out.

It’s so weird and tragic for the PAC-12 to be the most interesting conference in the country in their last year.

Its always been a "we beat each other up" conference - its just that this year the schedules have aligned up where 5 teams are ranked and Coach Prime brought the media bandwagon with him

We remain the only FBS team not to trail this season
