There would have to be some serious restrictions on that sort of thing. There would be a mad rush in the middle of the season for players trying to get on playoff-bound rosters.

You can, but it's one out and one in..... This would just be additional spots for the playoffs so a team can carry an extra QB, extra lineman, etc. whom still know your system.
