Spa's one of the funner circuits out there too.

    • Props to Kurt Busch. Realizing he won't be back in time to be a factor, he officially renounced his playoff spot.

      So scenarios are

      - If any previous winner, Ryan Blaney, or Martin Truex win: The last spots go to Blaney and Truex

      - If somebody else wins: They take the fifteenth spot, and the sixteenth goes to whoever comes out in points between Blaney and Truex. Blaney holds a 25 point lead, so Truex has a ton of ground to make up. If Truex and Blaney somehow tie- the tiebreaker is highest finish. Right now that's Blaney, who's got a third place best, while MTJ's best is fourth. Truex finishing third won't be enough- Blaney has four fourth place finishes vs MTJ's two. So the only way MTJ wins a tiebreaker is by finishing second.

Blaney is always strong at Daytona. But if I'm him...at least in stage one...I hang out towards the back. If Truex does well in stage 1, then he has to be up front...but if Truex doesn't get stage points, he can ride the 2nd stage too.

        • Of COURSE Denny Hamlin gets froggy and causes a wreck at the end of the first stage and Blaney is a casualty.

          MTJ's in car right now:

Fine by me. I didn't want to see Blaney get bumped.

                • Lol at Daytona. I was hoping Gragson would get up there and steal one but Austin Dillon plays a great spoiler.

Kyle Busch was more relaxed than I have ever seen him during the rain delay interview. I wouldn't be surprised if he had made a decision about his future and it involves retirement.

It sucks for Truex but, if you have to get in on points in the last race, you probably aren't going very far in the playoffs.

Not sure I agree with this for him or Blaney. From a points standpoint, I think both of them will/would have gotten out of the first round, if not the second.

Dillon & Cindric aren't getting out of the first round without a miracle. Then it'll be 2 of Briscoe, Suarez and Bowman also cut.

Then whoever of that 5 doesn't get cut in round one is gone in round 2, along with Bell, Busch & Reddick.

                      • Belgian GP:

It's always fun when the fastest car starts in the back.

Kudos to Lewis for cutting off the pit reporter when she tried to stir something up.

I have to wonder if Lewis retires after this season. He has nothing left to prove and he is clearly no longer having fun.

Fuck it, come to the States and run IndyCar or a PROJECT91 race. Although if he has the mentality of Schumacher then he can fuck right off.

Maybe he takes a couple of years off and gives IndyCar a try. I like Lewis but I think he is too woke for NASCAR.

Yea, he’s probably not a great fit for NASCAR personality wise.

It sucks for me just getting into it and missing his reign of greatness. Hopefully Merc can catch up a bit to Red Bull and Ferrari with the car by next year (or they call back to the pack somehow).

If not Max m is going to dominate for years unless Leclerc and Ferarri clean up their weekly fuckups or someone like Lando gets in a contending car.
