  • ODT: 2022 MLB Season

Offseason stuff going on, so why not start the season thread..?

The Amazing Metropolitans are making moves.

    Starling Marte - OF
    Eduardo Escobar - IF
    Mark Canha - UT

Conforto is gone, so Marte is a nice addition. Escobar provides depth and possibly becomes everyday 3B once Davis inevitably misses half the season.

Online fans are happy...I'm not in baseball mode right now, but I like the Marte move. He's not young anymore, but he proved last year he can still go bag-to-bag, and he's a former two-time Gold Glover...Can't hurt.

Lot of big signings happening now before the CBA expires in a few days.

Marcus Semien to the Rangers and Kevin Gausman to the Jays.

Mariners fans are pretty pissed about Semien, but tbh, career year in a stacked lineup...Texas is overpaying a fair bit.

I keep thinking he's going to show up washed one year after all that mileage, and what better team for it to happen on than the Metropolitans.

              I like the Marte/Canha moves.

If they can 3 of the 5 years, healthy, should be worth?

No way the Dodgers should've topped that ridiculous Seager deal when you have Turner and Lux.

But yeah losing Scherzer is tough, will have to add to the rotation.

Rangers have spent a lot of money to get to have a 75 win team.

Keeping Chris Taylor is a start. Time for a Freddie Freeman-type splash.

                              Stroman to the Cubs.

I liked him on the Amazin' Metropolitans.
