  • Two games that turned a season around.

If it is not clear by now, Florida State is not back. I mean, no one was actually saying that, but there was a feeling at the onset of the season, that the formula for winning would be found. AND FSU would be competitive. A 1-2 start later, the team and the fan base were hanging by a thread. While the next game to ND was also a blow out loss, something finally began to click with the replacement of the QB and a new offensive leader stepped forward. Special teams, that up until now had been to only bright light, had company as the Defense held a scoreless 4th quarter. By the end of the UNC game, it was clear that there was still heart in the players, and a season that started 1-3, still has the building blocks for a competitive season. Likely a couple more losses ahead; and i doubt the Seminoles will be favored the rest of the year.
My own fanhood started in 1991 with FSU. So to say i was spoiled is an understatement. I feel like the devil is collecting his due after so many great seasons. It was so bad at one point....i was remembering the Jeff Bowden days, fondly.

  • FSU: the tale of a lost season
    by DynastyFSU2
If 2020 was nothing else, pray it was rock bottom for the Seminoles. Its a long fall from a National championship 7 years ago. Coaching problems, recruiting problems, culture problems, and every year the Seminole faithful are just a little more beat down because it just seems to be getting worse. 2020 started with....we'll call it "managed expectations." There were some new bright spots, a much improved special teams, a change at QB, and the attitude. Seems the last 3 years, the Noles...

  • Pac-12 and a six game season
    by DynastyFSU2
As a Florida State fan, I've been less excited about this season in the last few weeks, but as a college football fan, generally, it is nice to have my Saturday's back. Obviously, the wuhan virus has adjusted the seasons for every level of play, but none more than the PAC12. Besides the glaring absence of the Oregon's, and the USC's from the Saturday late night schedules, the 6 game season at least gives us some west coast football, even as it leaves more questions about the post season process....

  • College Football missteps due to covid
    by DynastyFSU2
Sure, there are quite a few missteps in 2020 from testing, to communication, to cancelled seasons, to social distancing in the stands...But i think by far, the biggest misstep in college football as an organization, has to be the haphazard staggered start to the season.
Count me as one of those that was happily looking forward to the distraction of football. Even bad Seminoles football was better than no football. But already into week 4, you have teams that have only played 1 game or no...

  • Seminole culture still struggling?
    by DynastyFSU2
If you watched the Gatech and FSU game last weekend, you saw a tale of three teams. You saw a dominating FSU Defense, force turnovers, and block field goals and shut out the Yellow jackets thru half time. It was like watching the 1999 team. You also saw a competent, but anemic FSU Offense only score 13 points. Once again, James Blackman's unforced INT late in the 1st half, rattled the seasoned QB into trying to win it, all by himself. Very 2019. Then there was GaTech; sure and steady. Not great,...
